Like any major steel manufacturer, this steel company needs large quantities of demineralised water. The company has its own water treatment plant for this, but due to the rapid growth they need more demineralised water in the short term.
Demineralised water is water from which all salts, lime and chlorides have been removed.
In the purification process, brackish water is taken from the canal. Brackish water is a mixture of fresh water and sea water, which is often found in estuaries. The brackish water has a variable chloride content.
The untreated water first undergoes ultrafiltration and then filtration by means of reverse osmosis.
PROBLEM:
Liqson was approached by the company that provided the temporary water treatment.
The company needed a storage tank, which could be used in the short term. Because the brackish water contains a high salt content, the choice of materials was very important.
The company itself did not have DN100 and DN150 flexible hoses.
SOLUTION:
50,000-litre rental tank
Liqson supplied a 50,000-litre aluminium storage tank. The tank has an epoxy coating and is therefore definitely suitable for the storage of dirty water. The tank was fitted with stainless steel 316 DN100 flanges to be able to connect the flexible hoses.
A stainless steel manifold was also supplied to connect multiple DN100 flexible hoses.
Liqson also rented the company SBR hoses with stainless steel 316 DIN flanges. These were supplied in DN100 (4") and DN150 (6").
The hoses are equipped as standard with the seals and stainless steel bolts, nuts and washers. The stainless steel bolts were first greased with copper grease and mounted on the flange. The small details ensure quick installation on site.
Liqson has this durable material in stock. Before delivery, the hoses were tested under pressure and the tank was given a water test. All material was then rinsed with tap water. The customers also received the necessary tips and explanations by means of their own transport. Quality is the top priority for Liqson.
